West Coast

Dairy Conveyor reached the West coast in the mid 1970's shuttling work crews between New York and California every month. Dairy Conveyor continued this practice for several years, until spring of 1980, when the company decided to base a crew permanently in Southern California. The individual to start-up and lead the crew was Dieter Meier. Dieter was a lead installer and perfect for this kind of undertaking. So with a van and a storage room, the Western Division was born. Dieter was successful. He hired a few local guys and the business began to flourish. In 1981 Dairy Conveyor leased a shop in Bell Gardens, and brought on more help increasing the work force to 7(seven) by 1983. Dairy Conveyor had a reputation of performing round-the-clock repair jobs, which is still continued today.

The Western Division quickly grew out of it's space in Bell Gardens and relocated to the city of Huntington Beach in 1987, where they started designing and fabricating small jobs locally. The Western Division continued to grow under Dieter's leadership, and by the time he retired in December of 1998, he had a lot to be proud of. He took the division from nothing into a bustling fabrication shop.The current plant manager for the Western Division is Gary Freudenberg. He has been in the conveyor business for 20 years and places a strong emphasis on quality of production and timely deliveries. Gary has a long relationship with Dairy Conveyor. His grandfather was one of the original founders of the company. The Western Division added Paul Calabretta to it's sales and engineering team in 1998. Paul has 10 years of direct selling experience specializing in new business development and ground-up expansions. He is also a chairperson for the California Dairy Industry Association assisting in fundraising development and education. Both, he and Gary, are looking forward to helping the customer, and adding value anyway they can.
